Answer: I call high with a strong, brief value statement, local references, and a request for a meeting. Specific tactics are listed in the book titled, Selling to VITO (Very Important Top Officers).
To find who to call, I use Jigsaw, Hoovers, cold-calling, and networking. I also leverage technology partners, resellers, and Systems Integrators. Many partners already have relations and can help get me in.
